MAT Registration 2025: Application Form, Exam Dates, & Fees

MAT Registration 2025

MAT is an entrance test that is conducted throughout India. MAT is held by AIMA for MBA and PGDM courses; the test tests the analysis, mathematics, language, and reasoning skill of the candidates, which are necessary for the study of management. MAT is a widely used entry test for MBA programs in India. More than 600 business schools use its scores for their management programs.

Why MAT Exam

Students take the MAT test for a variety of reasons:

  1. Widespread Acceptance: MAT scores are accepted by over 600 Indian business schools.
  2. Multiple Exam Attempts: MAT is different from other MBA entrance exams (like CAT, XAT, etc.) because it happens four times a year (in February, May, September, and December); Everyone can write several times.
  3. Flexible Testing Modes: MAT provides the test-takers with the option of taking the test in various forms: Computer-Based, Paper-Based and Internet-Based Test.
  4. No High Eligibility Barriers: Unlike CAT, which has a minimum percent requirement in graduation, MAT opens up to people from any background to apply, hence it is more inclusive.
  5. Lower Level of Difficulty Compared to CAT & XAT: The MAT test is simpler to crack compared to tests such as CAT, XAT, or NMAT. It is therefore a good option for those who seek admission to a good B-school with not so hard competition.
  6. Low Registration Fees: MAT application fee is ₹2,100 for single mode and ₹3,600 for both modes, which is less expensive than other top MBA entrance tests.
  7. Fast Results & No Attempt Restriction: MAT results usually come out in 15-20 days, which helps students apply to several B-schools quickly. There is no restriction on the number of attempts, and therefore candidates can take the exam several times to get a higher score.
  8. Suitable for Tier-2 and Tier-3 MBA Colleges If the student is not able to perform well in the CAT, XAT, or GMAT, then the MAT provides an opportunity to join Tier-2 and Tier-3 MBA colleges which provide decent placements.
  9. MAT exam offers flexibility, many chances to give the test, easy accessibility, and many college choices for MBA or PGDM. If you are willing to join a management course but want a less tough and more regular entrance test than CAT, MAT can be a great option!
